Job summary

Wolfspeed in Durham, NC is seeking a Crystal Growth Lab Technician to perform technical tests, set up processing equipment, monitor runs and assist engineers and scientists in the Crystal Growth group.

The role emphasises attention to detail, independent work, and collaboration with engineers and scientists. Experience in crystal growth is preferred. This is an on-site role with opportunities for continuing education assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience running and troubleshooting manufacturing tools preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Comfortable handling ambiguity and running non-standard processing alongside peers.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineers, scientists, and equipment personnel in the Crystal Growth team.

Responsibilities

• Routine loading and unloading of crystallization equipment.
• Collaborate with scientists to perform measurements and support R&D projects.
• Prepare and secure parts; disposition crystals and parts after runs.

Position Summary:

This position entails performing technical tests and experiments within the R&D Crystal Growth group. It also entails preparing and setting up of the processing equipment as well as monitoring and processing test runs. This position will also provide technical assistance to engineers and scientists working in the area. Experience in crystal growth is preferred.

The Day-to-Day:

• Routine loading and unloading of the equipment used in Crystal Growth.
• Working with the scientists on any additional measurements or work to be done to support the overall R&D projects or department goals.
• Prepare and secure any parts needed as well as dispositioning crystals and parts after the completed runs.
