Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Process Technician to act as an expert in manufacturing processes and equipment. You will adjust, set up, and train operators to meet a fast-paced production plan with high quality, while maintaining safe and efficient operations.

The role requires learning to operate various assembly equipment, performing autonomous maintenance, and ensuring daily productivity and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in maintenance technology or technical trade certificate is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively is required.
• Lead and participate in root cause analysis of equipment or parts.
• Safety, health & environmental requirements education/work experience.
• Experience with SMT assembly, Flying Probe testing, reflow profiles, and PTH assembly.
• Possibility of weekend/shutdown work based on maintenance needs.
• Must operate a computer and Microsoft software suites.
• Results-oriented, team player, self-starter, capable of driving improvements.
• Experience in autonomous maintenance on fully automated heavy equipment.
• Excellent communication and ability to convey technical issues to nontechnical staff.
• Ability to ensure product build-to-specification quality.
• Must be able to lift/move 20-25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead with product changeovers and equipment adjustments based on quality and cycle time requirements.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with installation, debugging, repair and maintenance of production equipment.
• Perform autonomous maintenance, changeovers, inspection and testing of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and address problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Create new standards with manufacturing engineers to improve stability.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement process improvements.

Process Technician

Job Purpose:

The Process Technician is considered an expert of manufacturing processes and equipment. This Process Technician is responsible for adjustments, equipment set-up, autonomous maintenance, daily reports, and training equipment operators to assure production plan is accomplished in a safe, efficient, and productive manner with a high degree of quality in a fast paced manufacturing environment. The Process Technician must be able to learn to operate various forms of assembly equipment, and teach new employees proper operation of the equipment. Process Technicians are also responsible for daily productivity in their equipment and data analysis.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead with product change overs and equipment adjustments based on quality and cycle time requirements. Assist Maintenance Technicians in installation, debugging, repair and maintenance of production equipment. Perform tasks related to autonomous maintenance, changeovers, inspection and testing of equipment and specific projects. Troubleshoot and address problems in order to return equipment to manufacturing capabilities with minimal downtime. Diagnose process defects and equipment failure, and solve problems with minimal scrap and downtime Create new standards with manufacturing engineers and technicians to improve equipment stability. Work closely with manufacturing engineers and other maintenance technicians in a team environment to ensure efficient operation of machinery and to implement process improvements. Enter maintenance work orders for the equipment.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree in maintenance technology and/ or technical trade certificate a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Lead and participate in root cause analysis of equipment or parts.
• Safely comply with health, safety & environmental requirements education/work experience.
• Experience with appropriate processes (SMT assembly, Flying Probe testing and troubleshooting, reflow profiles, and PTH assembly process)
• May be required to work weekends/shutdowns based on equipment maintenance needs and or production deadlines.
• Must be able to operate a computer and various Microsoft software suites.
• The appropriate candidate for this position is results oriented, team player, self-starting, dynamic, flexible, and strongly motivated to succeed and deliver.
• Proven past ability to set-up, operate and perform autonomous maintenance on fully automated heavy equipment in a high speed manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide direction of technical and complex issues to nontechnical support personnel
• Ability to ensure product is built to specification in a quality manner
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 20-25 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read and interpret documents & drawings and write detailed repair reports.
• Ability to lead others and experience in training others in autonomous maintenance.
• Knowledge of Design/Solid Works or AutoCAD

Salary Range (annual) : $45,760.00 - $52,000.00

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
