Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair industrial facility equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.

You will inspect hydraulic and pneumatic systems, diagnose PLCs and CNC gearboxes, and assist with facility utility systems while following safety procedures and LOTO protocols. This role requires hands-on skills and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in industrial maintenance preferred.
• OSHA 10/30, CMRP/CMRT, EPA Universal Certification or NFPA 70E are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Diagnose electrical systems, PLCs, and automated CNC equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Rebuild pumps, gearboxes, actuators, and fabricate basic guards or brackets.
• Maintain facility infrastructure including compressed air lines and HVAC systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance using standard tools and diagnostic instruments; run checks on belts, bearings, lubrication systems.
• Follow safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safety standards.

Maintenance Equipment Technician

Summary

The Maintenance Equipment Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial facility equipment, mechanical systems, and machinery to ensure minimal downtime and optimal operational safety.

What You'll Do

• Mechanical & Hydraulic Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment, and overhead cranes. Repair and diagnose production machinery like coil winding machines, core-cutting tools, presses, slitting lines, and molding equipment.
• Electrical & Automated Controls: Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and automated CNC equipment. Preventive Maintenance (PM):.
• Mechanical Repairs: Rebuild pumps, gearboxes, actuators, and alignment systems, or fabricate basic guards and brackets. [
• Facility Support: Maintain facility infrastructure including compressed air lines, HVAC systems, and general industrial plant utility equipment.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) routines using standard hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments. Run routine checks on belts, bearings, gearboxes, and lubrication systems using computerized maintenance management software.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and Texas safety/environmental standards.

What You'll Bring

• Technical Experience: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
• Core Competencies: Proficient in troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC machinery, PLCs, and overhead crane systems.
• Equipment Knowledge: Competent with standard hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and industrial shop equipment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and operate safely around industrial machinery.

How To Stand Out

• High School Diploma or GED: Required
• Certificate or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Experience with 2–4 years in an accredited trade apprenticeship program or related experience.
• Industry Certifications:
• OSHA: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry certification.
• CMRP / CMRT: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional / Technician.
• Specialized: EPA Universal Certification (for HVAC handling), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training, or NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety).
