Job summary

Resinall Corp, an Ergon company, seeks a Process Technical Services Manager in Severn, NC. You will lead the Process Engineering, Process Controls, QC Lab, and IT groups to align with plant and corporate goals, reporting to the Plant Manager.

The role requires a strong background in chemical processing, ISO 9001, and safety/compliance programs, with demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration. This position is based at Severn, NC and involves multi-discipline oversight.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years in chemical processing or refinery environments, or a similar engineering degree with 5 years in plant tech support.
• Ten years of chemical processing or refining experience is required if no engineering degree is held.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Process Engineering team activities for process optimization, design, and development in plant unit operations.
• Oversee Process Controls for DCS, SIS, PLCs and related I/O, ensuring reliability and improvements.
• Supervise QC Lab operations, maintain ISO 9001 compliance, and manage lab personnel.
• Lead IT department and infrastructure responsibilities to support plant needs.
• Coordinate cross-functional process technical support across operations, maintenance, safety, and procurement.

Job description

Resinall Corp, an Ergon company currently has an opening for a Process Technical Services Manager at our Severn, NC location. The Process Technical Services Manager will administer and coordinate the affairs of all of the disciplines of the department, including the QC Laboratory, Process Engineering, Process Controls, and IT groups to achieve overall departmental, facility, and corporate goals. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Position Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with five years chemical processing or refinery experience preferred, or a B.S. in another engineering or technical discipline with a minimum of five years in a chemical processing or refining environment in plant technical support role, servicing operations, laboratory, and engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of ten years of experience with chemical processing or refining operations/process service is required without a degree.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role is preferred.

Specific Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA PSM Standard and EPA's RMP standard's technical application to the chemical industry is preferred.
• General knowledge of ISO 9001 technical application to chemical processing is preferred.
• General knowledge of plant engineering is preferred, including process engineering, process controls, project engineering, operations troubleshooting and technical support.
• General knowledge of laboratory activities in chemical processing is preferred.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Successful completion of training requirements as outlined by the Resinall/Ergon Management

Responsibilities

• Manage the efforts of the Process Engineering group in the application of chemical engineering principles to the areas of process optimization and troubleshooting, process design and process development to the plant unit operations.
• Manage the efforts of the Process Controls group in the areas of maintaining, developing, and troubleshooting facility DCS, SIS and miscellaneous PLC and related I/O
• Direct supervisory responsibility of the QC Lab Supervisor in maintaining, modifying, and improving the laboratory quality management system and specification management program, supervision of laboratory personnel, and adherence to ISO 9001.
• Direct and manage the Information Technology department and personnel and maintain responsibility for all IT infrastructure.
• Administer and coordinate process technical support activities for process operations at the facility, aligning priority and communication between process engineering, controls, IT, and laboratory personnel to best support plant activities.
• Monitor, identify gaps, and initiate process operations improvements based on metrics on process safety, environmental impact, product quality, and production targets to ensure facility performance is in alignment with goals as defined by Resinall management and corporate initiatives.
• Interface with facility administrative staff to ensure process technical support needs are being met for all disciplines including Operations, Maintenance/Engineering/Purchasing, Safety/Health/Environmental/Security, Process Safety/Compliance, and Information Systems departments.
• Interface with corporate segments as needed to support corporate initiatives and programs, including but not limited to, Sales & Operations Planning, Raw Material Qualification, Process and Product Technical Development, Product Quality Reviews, and Budget development.
• Ensure all departmental training and qualification needs are met for all direct reports.
