Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-motivated Process Safety Specialist to join our Big Island, VA team. Working under the Safety Manager, you will lead emergency preparedness, manage process safety elements, and drive continuous improvement of the mill's safety program.

You will coordinate hazard analyses, MOC, PSSR and incident investigations, mentor employees, and ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA and GP standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Emergency Response role.
• Experience managing emergency response teams (HAZMAT, Emergency Medical, Confined Space Rescue, and Incident Command).
• Knowledge of NFPA requirements for emergency response systems.

Responsabilités

• Support the Mill in achieving its Vision of Zero Significant Events.
• Coordinate process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and related safety guidelines.
• Analyze process safety incidents and near misses to drive corrective actions.
• Lead emergency readiness training for multidisciplinary teams (HAZMAT, Fire Brigade, Emergency Medical, Confined Space Rescue, Incident Command).
• Manage continuous improvement of emergency readiness programs and equipment maintenance.
