Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-motivated Process Safety Specialist to join our team at Big Island, VA. Working under the mill Safety Manager, you will focus on Emergency Preparedness and Readiness while guiding the facility using the business framework and safety principles.

The role emphasizes identifying and mitigating risk, managing the emergency readiness program, and supporting the site safety team through coordinated process safety activities and compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Emergency Response role.
• Experience managing emergency response teams (HAZMAT, Emergency Medical, Confined Space Rescue, and Incident Command).
• Knowledge of NFPA requirements for emergency response systems.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate process hazard analyses (PHA), MOC, PSSR, and design reviews.
• Analyze incidents and near misses to drive corrective actions.
• Lead emergency readiness training for HAZMAT, Fire, EMS, Confined Space Rescue, and IC teams.
• Maintain emergency readiness equipment, inspections, and testing.
• Mentor safety employees and integrate safety into projects.
• Ensure compliance with GP standards, OSHA, and NFPA.
