Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to lead risk management for the Mid‑Stream plant, ensuring hazards are understood and controls are effectively implemented. The role is hands‑on, partnering with operations and maintenance to reduce risk on a major mineral processing site in Western Australia.

You will drive safety‑critical integrity, support PSSR, and translate complex risk content into practical procedures and safe operating practices for the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Safety Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process safety or risk engineering in heavy industry.
• Proven ability to translate hazards into practical controls and action plans.
• Current Australian work rights and ability to operate in a mining/industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess process safety hazards across Mid‑Stream circuits and maintain a prioritised view of risk.
• Facilitate and document practical risk studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie).
• Lead or support the Management of Change (MOC) process for plant/process changes.
• Maintain P&IDs and PFDs, data sheets and safe operating limits to reflect plant operations.
• Lead or support Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews to ensure safe commissioning.
