Job summary

Flint Hills Resources in Corpus Christi, Texas, seeks a Process Safety Engineer to support and oversee PSM programs at the Corpus Christi Refinery. You will work with operations, maintenance and technical support groups to implement PSM standards and risk controls, leading PHA studies and owning select programs.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering background with refinery experience and strong communication skills to interface with diverse plant staff and external entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in a Petrochemical Refinery or similar manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of process safety engineering or related operational support.
• Experience implementing standards/procedures/training in a management program.
• Ability to lead PHA studies or risk assessment activities.

Responsibilities

• Support and oversight of Process Safety Management programs at the Corpus Christi Refinery.
• Partner with operations, maintenance and technical teams to apply PSM standards and risk controls.
• Lead PHA studies or equivalent risk assessments and own select PSM programs.
• Interface with plant staff and external entities using established communication skills.
