Job summary

Flint Hills Resources (Koch) in Corpus Christi is seeking a Process Control Engineer/Specialist to design and implement control strategies that optimize refinery performance and reliability. You will focus on DCS-based controls, automation, and system optimization, contributing to high-impact solutions that drive measurable value.

Collaborate with Operations, mentor engineers, and support capital projects by providing process control expertise.

Qualifications

• Experience in process control within refining, petrochemical, or similar industrial environments.
• Engineering degree or equivalent process control/automation experience.
• Knowledge of process troubleshooting, plant stability, and control tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize regulatory control strategies (PID, cascade, feedforward) and DCS-based model predictive controls.
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve unit performance, reliability, and constraint management.
• Partner with Operations to ensure process control applications deliver sustained value and high uptime.
• Troubleshoot complex process control and plant stability issues to improve overall performance.
• Develop and scale Procedure Automation applications to enhance operator efficiency and consistency.
• Provide ongoing support, tuning, and optimization for process control systems.
• Contribute to capital projects by providing process control expertise and technical input.
• Collaborate across Koch companies through knowledge networks and technical forums.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to elevate team capability.
