Job summary

Nufarm in Chicago Heights, IL is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to strengthen process safety management across our chemical manufacturing operations. You will work with site leaders, operations, and engineering to ensure robust governance and effective risk controls.

You will drive risk assessments (HAZOP/LOPA), maintain hazard analysis schedules, oversee MOC activities, and deliver safety training to elevate organizational capability and awareness across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety optional but preferred.
• 10+ years of process safety engineering experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert process safety guidance to sites and partners.
• Facilitate PHA analyses (HAZOP, LOPA) and revalidations across sites.
• Govern and support Process Safety Management elements and systems.
• Lead MOC activities and assess technical/organizational risks.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to strengthen capability.
