Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Electronics Engineering or related field with minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics of electrical equipment and PCBAs.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power analyzers.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma and process-improvement methodologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze defective electronics components returned from customer sites and in-house rejections and take corrective action.
  • Develop new testing equipment in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Map current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement through automation.
  • Focus on continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing principles.
  • Provide training and support to users on new processes and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.

Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.You will be mainly accountable for:Analyze all the defective electronics components returned from customer sites and inhouse rejections and take corrective action necessary.Develop new testing equipment in co-ordination with a cross-functional team to test the electronic components.Mapping current manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement through automation.Focus on continuous improvement by utilizing lean manufacturing principles.Provide training and support to users on new processes, ensuring smooth transition.Keep track on emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.Qualifications for the roleBachelor in Electronics Engineering or related engineering field PLUS minimum 2 years of experienceProficiency in analyzing electronics components.Ability to read and interpret schematics of electrical equipment and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).Skilled in using electrical test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes and power analyzers.Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about usABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
