Job summary

ABB is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to lead testing and verification for high-power UPS and related products in our Richmond, VA facility. You will design fixtures, lead projects from concept to commissioning, and drive testing policies for efficiency and quality.

You will troubleshoot high-power systems and ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA codes, maintaining required documentation. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) and at least two years in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years electrical-related manufacturing work experience.
  • Strong grasp of 3 phase power system analysis.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 101/72 and related codes.
  • Low/Medium voltage switchgear or safety system design experience is a plus.
  • Medium voltage experience is a plus.
  • Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or PLC programming experience is preferred.
  • US work authorization is required.

  • Lead test infrastructure design projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop and improve testing policies and procedures to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on high-power three-phase power protection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer specifications; maintain test reports and certificates.
