Job summary

Oxy is seeking a Plant Operator to safely operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment to achieve daily production goals. You will inspect, respond to alarms, log data, and coordinate with maintenance to ensure reliable, compliant plant performance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience in plant operations or oil and gas, with ability to work rotating shifts and follow strict safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or oil and gas preferred.
• Ability to read and follow operating procedures and safety policies.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment and controls per SOPs and safety expectations.
• Monitor process conditions and respond to alarms promptly.
• Perform rounds and inspections to identify leaks or abnormal conditions.
• Start up, shut down, and adjust equipment as directed by procedures.
• Record data and communicate status to team and supervision.
• Assist with troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance personnel.
• Support safe work practices, LOTO, and housekeeping standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow company policies, environmental standards and site procedures.
