Placements24 seeks a proactive Process Optimization Engineer to join their team in Welkom. You will drive improvements across chemical manufacturing processes, focusing on yield, energy efficiency, and product consistency through data-driven analysis and best-practice implementation.

Work with plant operations, quality control, and R&D to identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, and monitor changes. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
3–5 years in process engineering, focusing on optimization and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and process modeling tools.

Responsibilities

Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in yield, energy consumption, and waste reduction.
Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, including SPC and lean manufacturing principles.
Conduct feasibility studies for new process technologies or modifications to existing ones.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure reliability and efficiency of process equipment.
Document process changes, best practices, and operational guidelines.
Train plant personnel on optimized processes and new procedures in Welkom.
