Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Process Operator to run computer-controlled process equipment, cookers, and conduct product quality testing. The role includes overseeing rendering from raw material to finished goods and maintaining cooker conditions while ensuring safety is the top priority.

Schedule: 5:00am - 2:30pm. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and manufacturing experience; prior rendering or production background preferred. Darling is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage.
• Maintain steady flow of material to cooker.
• Maintain cooker temperature, rate, and steam at peak operating levels.
• Monitor evaporation rate to maintain rate per hour according to requirements.
• Control flow of material to presses and to finished goods storage.
• Monitor control panel and gauges to operate the process.
• Operate pollution control system including air/odor and wastewater control.
• Responsible for boiler start up and operation.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on all equipment in process.
• Maintain a clean work area and uphold safety rules.
