Job summary

Pennsylvania Grain Processing LLC seeks a Process Operator PGP in Clearfield, PA to monitor and operate processing equipment and ensure quality standards.

The role follows a 3-2-2 schedule with 2 days on, 2 days off, every other weekend; permanent day or night shifts are available. Candidates must pass a background check, drug test, and respirator fit test, and have a High School diploma with 1–2 years in ethanol operation preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or Equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in ethanol operation or related field preferred.
  • Post-secondary/technical certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control plant operations to carry out the established operations plan and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain complete production logs daily, weekly, and monthly and communicate essential items to management.
  • Communicate with QC laboratory and participate in QA/QC program.
  • Provide a customer service attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while achieving quality standards.
  • Abide by safety, health, environmental and food/feed safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Responsible for monitoring and operating processing equipment and assures production quality standards are met.

Schedule:

3-2-2 Schedule, 2 days on and 2 days off working every other weekend

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Constantly monitor and control plant operations to carry out the established operations plan, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain complete and accurate production logs on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis of key variables and operates plant within established parameters. Completes written shift reports and communicates essential items to management as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with all other employees and departments and assists all other employees and departments as required for efficient plant operation.
  • Participates in projects as needed or assigned by management that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Communicates directly with QC laboratory and participates in carrying out plant QC policies and procedures. Actively participates in quality assurance/quality control program.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Abides by all safety, health, environmental and food/feed safety policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Experience:1-2 Years in ethanol operation or a related field preferred.
  • A Post-Secondary education and or technical trade certificate is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ethanol production process and technology is preferred.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with other departments, working to maintain constructive working relationships under all circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to operate industrial size equipment such as: lifts and skid steers.
  • Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Abide by company’s safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit.
  • Frequently required to climb to levels of 125 feet or more, confined and harnessed. Use of stairs and ladders are required.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.
  • Operate in an office and production environment. Production environment could include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the production environment is usually very loud.
  • This position requires the use of a respirator.
