Job summary

LiDestri Foods in Rochester, NY is seeking a dedicated machine operator to prepare products and batches per customer specifications, ensuring quality checks are performed and documented.

You will follow batch cards, confirm item codes, weights and descriptions, set up equipment, assist with ingredient reports, and keep the kitchen and utensils clean and ready for use. This role offers stability in a 1,000+ employee family-run company with strong benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to wear PPE (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net, Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, sturdy shoes).
• Basic computer, math and reasoning skills required.
• Ability to use basic hand tools (knife, pumps, scales).
• Previous machine operator experience preferred.
• Lock Out/Tag Out training is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is set up and functioning.
• Follow batch cards, verify item codes, lot numbers, weights and descriptions.
• Prepare batches per batch card (kettles, breddos, brix, acid and pH levels).
• Assist with ingredient lot number reports.
• Remove products not required for the current batch run.
• Participate in CIP processes as needed.
• Maintain clean, ready-for-use kitchen utensils and workspace.
• Interpret written production orders accurately.
• Report current inventory to authorized personnel for action.
• Report food safety and quality issues to the appropriate party.
