Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent experience in chemical ops.
• 10+ years of onsite chemical plant process operator experience.
• Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing concepts and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: The experienced Process Operator will report to the Production Superintendent, and efficiently operate rotating and fixed equipment onsite, maintain accurate production records, and monitor all processes used to perform operations at a 24/7 chemical manufacturing plant safely. As an Operator, you will optimize production and e ensure day-to-day operations remain compliant with all environmental, health, safety regulations. Local candidates only.

In This Role, You Will

• Monitorchemical plant process equipment, ensure strict compliance with safety policies while performing work, and consistently take appropriate action to mitigate potential hazards.
• Adjustprocess controls, take routine readings, perform preventative and minor maintenance onsite, and effectively troubleshoot operational problems to enhance reliability of the asset.
• Monitor and adjust settingson the equipment affecting the speedof chemical reactions, product quality, and the yield to ensure production is consistently within acceptable limits.
• Record data and operating conditions, document instrument readings, andrates of flow to identify upward and downward trends.
• Workoutside the unit including both grounds and utilities, inside the asset, andin thecontrol room to monitortheHoneywell distributed control system (DCS) board.
• Make periodic rounds throughout the shift towalk the asset andidentify deviations in operations, adjust processinstruments and equipment to ensure proper flows, temperature, pressures, and levels.
• Participate in projects onsite that improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and vendors to facilitate daily activities.
• Ensure daily plant operations are within environmental requirements, c omply with allhealth and safety policiesand procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
• De-energize equipment safely to enable maintenance technicians to perform required preventative maintenance, installations and repair work.
• Provideassistance and support to both engineering and maintenance as requiredto optimize production and ensure smooth 24/7 operations onsite at the plant.
• Participate in all site specific safety training and meetings, perform work safely and respond to emergency situations as required.
• Comply with company operationpolicies and procedures toensure all work areas remain clean and free of hazards.
• Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.

What We Require

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate's degree in process technology or successful track record of process operator work experience onsite in a chemical manufacturing plant.
• Ten or more years of process operator experience working onsite in a industrial chemical manufacturing or related work environment or industry.
• Must have thorough knowledge of common concepts and procedures used in chemical manufacturing operations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required, with an ability to apply knowledge and skills to effectively carry out instructions furnished in written anddiagram form.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work a twelve-hour schedulewith rotating shiftsthat may includeovertime, holidays, nights, and weekends to meet the needs of a 24/7 manufacturing business.
