Job summary

NewMarket is hiring for a chemical process operator in Utah/Cedar City. You will operate pumps, dryers, filtration, reactors, and other equipment, handling blending, packing, and shipping of materials.

You will also manage inventory, analyze data, and participate in emergency response activities. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, experience around chemicals, and certification in hazardous materials operations and related safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience working with and around chemicals preferred.
• Must become certified in Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Brigade, First Responder, and confined space entry rescue training (sponsored).
• Must be able to meet the Essential Physical Functions for the position (including lifting 75 pounds).
• Candidates selected for the job will be subject to a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate pumps for chemical flow processes.
• Operate dryers and filtration equipment for chemical processes.
• Operate reactors and crystallizers and other industrial process equipment.
• Blend, pack and ship materials; operate material handling equipment (forklift, conveyor).

Job description

Operation of all chemical process equipment.

Including, but not limited to: Operating pumps for chemical flow process. Operating dryers. Operating filtration equipment for chemical process. Operate chemical reactors and crystallizers. Operating industrial process equipment, blending, packing and shipping materials. Operating material handling equipment - forklift, conveyor etc.

Inventory, collect and analyze data.

Participate on the Company’s emergency response team.

Adheres to the safety, environmental & Quality programs of the Company.

Starting Wage

$29.80/HR

Wage increases at 3,6,12,18 & 24 month time periods based on performance.

Schedule:

Working 12 hour shifts 7 to 7, rotating between days and nights monthly. Shift is 2-on 2-off 3-on 2-off. This shift gives you every other weekend off.

Experience / Skills Required:

High school diploma or G.E.D required.

Prior experience working with and around chemicals preferred.
