Economy Polymers & Chemicals in Port Lavaca, TX seeks a plant operator to run plant equipment, maximize production quantity and quality, and support company goals. General Responsibility and Function:

Responsible for the operation of the plant equipment, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Duties:
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.
  • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area.
  • Monitor, control, and record process functions.
  • Feed raw material to semi-automated machines.
  • Perform quality control procedures, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures and report issues to supervisor.
  • Collect product samples for lab testing.
  • Comply will all safety and health regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Operating Equipment: Uses tools, machines, and/or vehicles to complete the assigned work.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED or Technical degree required.
  • Combination of additional education and experience.
  • Experience using a forklift is preferred.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 35-50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and similar equipment.
  • Comfortable in a variety of weather conditions, including rain/snow and heat/cold.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing environment with noise/vibration, fumes or moving mechanical parts.
  • This role involves standing/walking for up to 100% of the day and climbing/crouching/crawling/stooping/reaching with hands and arms up to 25% of the workday.
