Overall Description: The process operator is responsible for safely performing all duties associated with the operational aspect of production, including but not limited to the receiving and charging of raw materials, the operation of vessels, and the extraction and packaging of finished product. All work done with compliance to SHE guidelines, government regulations, cGMP, manufacturing packets and process procedures, and at the discretion of the controlling supervisor.
Key Duties
Maintain safe and healthy work environment
Understand & follow established procedures to operate safely, in an environmentally sound manner, and according to cGMP including during emergencies, startup & shut down, & OSHA related issues
Access electronic communication and procedures regularly (e.g. email, Intelex)
Knowledge of personal protective equipment and its use
Hold others accountable for safety and escalate issues as necessary
Produce finished goods according to customer specifications
Operate the vessels and equipment following manufacturing procedures
Assist with charging vessels with raw materials
Monitor temperature and pressure/charge and discharge raw materials/run boil outs
Sample product by following sampling procedures (take sample to lab, get results, adjust batch as necessary)
Record basic data on batch sheets
Package the product
Operate ancillary equipment (e.g. cleaning and washing drums, carboard bailer, inline filter)
Handle and locate chemicals
Drum product & repackage
Pick raw materials from storage & charge materials
Operate fork truck
Experience required: No previous experience required. Manufacturing experience preferred.
Education / specialized training required: High school graduate. Fork truck training and license. Safety training. Basic math skills (computation) and basic reading comprehension.
Physical requirements: Must be able to walk, stand or sit for a minimum of 12 hours a day. Able to lift 50 pounds and 155 pounds with help. Required to move throughout the production floor including uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders. Must be able to war a respirator and pass all pulmonary function tests.
