The Role We Want You For

The Process Mechanical Engineer III will create and update piping specifications, manual valve specifications, pipe and valve material schedules, perform stress analysis on piping runs, create equipment specifications and data sheets, size central utility system plants, and develop trade scope of work documents.

Projects include distribution, industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, or other industrial process markets, involving existing building improvements and new construction.

The Specifics of the Role

1. Lead engineering design in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards for all phases of process and utility engineering work.
2. Determine detailed equipment requirements based on process design and prepare technical data sheets for specifications of process and utility equipment.
3. Create and review equipment lists, line and valve lists, tie-in lists to existing piping and equipment.
4. Support creation of trade scope of work documents for pipe fitters and millwrights.
5. Collaborate with Design and Integration teams on equipment and piping layouts, ensuring maintenance, accessibility, and that piping drawings match P&IDs.
6. Lead technical review of project requirements to define work plans.
7. Travel and participate in client/project meetings as needed.
8. Perform piping stress analysis using Caesar II software.

Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
2. 5-10 years of process mechanical engineering experience.
3. PE License to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states.
4. Experience with large capital projects across various industries.
5. Knowledge of pipe and manual valve specification updating and creating pipe material schedules for diverse piping systems.
6. Experience in pipe stress analysis.
7. Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
9. Operations, process start-up, or construction experience is a plus.
10. Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
