Job summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Process Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment necessary for the manufacturing process in the process area and perform related duties as needed.

We offer a 2nd shift (Sun–Thu, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.) onsite in Stuarts Draft, VA, with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of pneumatics, power transmissions (chains, belts, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement (LEAN)

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment for the manufacturing process area
• Perform related duties to support the maintenance team
• Ensure equipment reliability and uptime through proactive maintenance

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Process Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment necessary to the manufacturing function in process area Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge and thorough understanding of pneumatics, power transmissions (chain drives, e.g.), pumps, valves and bearing application
• Technical maintenance training
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical equipment issues
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
• Accurate measuring ability
• Ability to furnish personal tools as required on the Process Mechanic tool list
• Demonstrated ability to promote continuous process improvement and LEAN principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Sketching ability
• Four years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience as a Maintenance Utility at McKee Foods
• Hydraulics experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain an L.T.O. Lift Truck Operator license
• Electrical training at a technical school
• Basic welding and fabrication
• Basic machine shop
