The Visual Group is seeking a Process/Manufacturing Engineer to design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for safety, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. You will optimize production systems, support product changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new and improved products into manufacturing.

Based at our New Berlin, WI facility, the role requires hands-on experience with assembly processes, lean manufacturing, and using AutoCAD for process/layout work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience using AutoCAD for process, layout, or equipment design and documentation.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with and around lean manufacturing practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Develop and recommend process enhancements that increase production rates, improve efficiencies, boost yields, reduce costs, and minimize changeover times.
• Design and implement innovative solutions for equipment upgrades and product changes, addressing customer product issues, quality concerns, alternative product options, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with customers, sales, and operations teams to improve existing products and successfully commercialize new products and processes through manufacturing.
• Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and continuously enhancing quality standards.
• Create, refine, and maintain work instructions and documentation to support consistent and efficient assembly and production processes.
• Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to drive ongoing process optimization and waste reduction.
• Support troubleshooting activities on the production floor, working with operations teams to resolve process and quality issues.
• Monitor key process metrics and use data to recommend and implement corrective actions and long-term improvements.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong background in process engineering and manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on experience with assembly processes and production workflows.
• Ability to develop, interpret, and improve work instructions for manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to improve process capability, production volume, and quality performance.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as waste reduction, standard work, and flow optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend data-driven solutions.
• Effective collaboration skills for working with customers, sales, and operations teams on product and process improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple process improvement initiatives and prioritize based on impact and feasibility.
• Clear communication skills for documenting processes, presenting recommendations, and training production staff.

Work Environment

This role is based at a manufacturing facility in New Berlin, WI. The engineer will initially train on a day shift to learn processes, equipment, and procedures, and then transition to a split schedule covering both first and second shifts to support production operations. The work environment involves close collaboration with production, operations, and cross-functional teams on the manufacturing floor and in office or engineering spaces, using tools such as AutoCAD and standard engineering documentation to analyze and improve processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
