Process and Manufacturing Engineer

This position is responsible for ensuring best practices of process planning and control are used at MarVac to meet customer and regulatory requirements. These practices include tasks related to risk & feasibility assessments, first article builds, tooling and fixture design/development, preventive maintenance, safety management, and production process improvements.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Pre-production
- Participate in the Risk & Feasibility Assessment process, focusing on production risks and feasibility.
- Review quotes for accuracy and coordinate necessary corrections.
- Build, inspect, and correct first articles for new products.
- Interface with customers and suppliers for first articles and standards.
- Review and approve job travelers and work instructions.
Production
- Design and develop test fixtures, assembly fixtures/jigs, and various tools.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with external agencies or internal resources.
- Conduct process improvement assessments and job hazard assessments.
- Troubleshoot production problems and assist with customer corrective actions.
- Plan and execute projects aimed at safety, delivery, cost, and quality improvements, including capital projects.
- Train production employees on equipment, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
- Serve as the production safety coordinator, conduct safety audits, and lead safety projects.
- Travel to customer sites for project reviews as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Marsh/Marvac software, including TOLAS.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably industrial or electrical engineering.
- 4-5 years of related engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of IPC 620, PPAP, ISO 9001, statistics, gauge systems, and GD&T.
- Preferred: Lean Sigma Green Belt certification and robotics programming experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular speaking and listening.
- Prolonged computer work and desk sitting.
- Occasional standing, reaching, lifting up to 25-30 pounds, and walking in production areas.
