Job description

Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Process Improvement Specialist. The Process Improvement Specialist builds the foundational operational blueprint for our organization. This individual will transition the company from reactive, transforming new and immature processes into structured, scalable, and repeatable processes across Sales, Engineering, and Program Management. This is a builder role requiring a balance of strategic design and hands‑on execution. As the Process Improvement Specialist, you will serve as a key internal consultant and operational architect. Reporting directly to the Business Transformation Manager, you will design, implement, and standardize the foundational processes that bridge our commercial pipeline and technical execution. This is a highly visible opportunity to eliminate operational variance, mitigate risk, and establish the governance necessary to drive predictable, enterprise-wide delivery. If you are an analytically driven professional eager to build a scalable operational legacy from the ground up, this role offers a direct path to high-impact organizational transformation.

Your tasks
  • Audit current unwritten, informal workflows by interviewing teams to extract and capture institutional knowledge.
  • Design and document foundational processes, workflows, and swim lane diagrams across the sales‑to‑delivery and operations lifecycle.
  • Establish clear boundaries, responsibilities, and data handoff requirements between Sales, Engineering, Program Management, Service, and execution teams.
  • Create the company standardized templates, project intake forms, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Set up and maintain a user‑friendly process library or knowledge base to ensure a single source of truth for the company.
  • Educate, coach, and support team members through the transition from informal habits to newly structured workflows.
  • Define and introduce the company’s first foundational KPIs to track pipeline velocity, engineering timelines, and project health.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of business analysis or operational experience, specifically with a track record of building structure out of ambiguity (e.g., in a startup or fast‑growing environment).
  • Strong mastery of foundational process design principles (Lean/Agile frameworks), with a focus on practical application.
  • Exceptional patience, active listening, and relationship‑building skills
  • Proficiency in documentation and workflow tools (e.g., Miro, Lucid chart, Visio, Notion, or Confluence).
  • Ability to leverage organization strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Professional and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in office software: MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Project, Acrobat.
  • In order to be considered, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident able to obtain an interim or final suitability determination, subject to completion and favorable adjudication of the required background investigation.

The total compensation for this position is $76K-$109K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
