Qualifications

  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Manager, Continuous Improvement, the Process Improvement Facilitator is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and enhancing processes within Yaamava' Resort & Casino. This role requires effective communication, expertise in process improvement, and the ability to facilitate collaborative efforts that drive operational excellence and process efficiencies. The Process Improvement Facilitator works closely with leadership teams in various departments to coordinate, implement, and execute process improvement efforts while ensuring consistency with enterprise strategy, commitments, and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Leads and facilitates the Lean Training Program, Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects. Works closely with departments to analyze processes, identify waste or inefficiencies, and develop improvement strategies.
  2. Leads improvement initiatives, which may include defining goals and objectives, project plans, establishing timelines, and status reports. Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementations and provides guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Collects and analyzes data from improvement initiatives and identifies areas of improvement. Works with department stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, and tracks progress towards improvement goals.
  4. Assists departments with process flow mapping for enterprise process projects and utilizes Lean methodologies to identify root causes to develop data-driven solutions.
  5. Supports change management initiatives by effectively communicating change benefits and impacts to relevant stakeholders. Assists in developing training materials, as needed.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Process Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or related methodologies is required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation of training, projects, or Kaizen events is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality and/or casino operations is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Must have prior working experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet and/or comparable project management tools.
  • Must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality as the team member has access to confidential information including, but not limited to guest contact information, guest financial data, and enterprise financial data.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Professional certification such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
Driving Responsibilities

Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Hearing sufficiently to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone. Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone. Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke. Reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with all applicable law.
