Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve processes and equipment to boost safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.

• Lead CI projects from scope to implementation, validation, reporting, and sustainability.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, SPC and root cause analysis to eliminate waste and improve performance.
• Analyze KPIs such as downtime, scrap, yield to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop process maps, FMEAs, control plans, standard work, SOPs, and related docs.
• Collaborate across functions to implement solutions and resolve issues.
• Coach teams on CI tools, standard work, problem solving, and safety.

Position Summary

The Process Improvement Engineer serves as a key technical and operational improvement resource responsible for improving manufacturing performance across safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, reliability, and overall operational effectiveness.

This role partners closely with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, plant leadership, customers, suppliers, and vendors to evaluate processes and equipment, troubleshoot issues, analyze process data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable solutions. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, project leadership, and hands‑on collaboration to standardize best practices, support equipment and process improvements, and help build a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, improve, and support manufacturing processes and equipment to drive safety, quality, productivity, reliability, delivery, and cost performance.
• Provide hands‑on technical support and troubleshooting for production, maintenance, equipment downtime, planned outages, and process‑related issues.
• Lead engineering and continuous improvement projects from scope through implementation, validation, reporting, and sustainability follow‑up.
• Use Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, SPC, root cause analysis, corrective action, and mistake‑proofing tools to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve performance.
• Analyze production data, downtime, scrap, yield, defects, customer rejects, and other KPIs to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain engineering studies, process maps, FMEAs, control plans, standard work, SOPs, visual management tools, and related documentation.
• Partners with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and vendors to implement solutions and resolve issues.
• Coach others on continuous improvement tools, standard work, problem solving, best practices, and safety expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Experience supporting process improvement, equipment reliability, maintenance, production operations, or plant-floor troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, SPC, root cause analysis, corrective action, standard work, and related continuous improvement tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, project management, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Minitab, ERP/CMMS, statistical analysis, or manufacturing data systems preferred.
