Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives at the Bayport site. You will evaluate opportunities, define project scopes with technical experts, and drive operational excellence across manufacturing.

You will collaborate with Center of Excellence, Operations, and EH&S to align scopes, analyze loss data, and champion process safety during design. On-site role with career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Chemical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing engineering focused on process improvement and/or production engineering.
• Proven track record of leveraging technology and process optimization to improve manufacturing performance.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maximize value through process optimization initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and objectives simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and tools.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments across the site.
• Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
• Self-driven, highly motivated, and goal-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Possess in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets that help establish credibility with the operations team.
• Lead continuous improvement activities for assigned units and serve as the manufacturing representative through FEL Design.
• Partner with experts to develop project scopes and gap closure plans that support business objectives.
• Analyze production loss accounting data and develop a prioritized list of process improvement opportunities.
• Champion process safety activities during project design and partner with operations to ensure safe manufacturing processes.
• Ensure implementation of the most effective technology by integrating input from multiple teams into project definition and design.
• Maintain accountability for the technical integrity and operability of the units they support.
• Ensure coordination between plant operations and manufacturing representatives to optimize operability.
• Provide effective communication and coordination between project teams and Operations.
• Support Front End Loading (FEL) project activities as required.
• Serve as the lead person for all new plant product trials.
