This role involves overseeing equipment management, safety leadership, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. At GE Appliances, we’re seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to lead the way in optimizing our production processes. Join a team where your expertise in equipment, safety, process control, and operational improvement can truly make an impact!Equipment Management:
Own and maintain production equipment and tooling post-engineering sign-off.
Serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) metrics.
Oversee equipment calibration and manage preventive maintenance plans.
Safety Leadership:
Collaborate with operations leaders to identify and resolve safety issues.
Lead safety action plans and ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Process Control:
Develop and enforce process-level standards and manufacturing control plans.
Act as a cross-functional leader to resolve production line challenges.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead problem-solving initiatives, root cause analysis, and implement best practices.
Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
New Product Introductions (NPI):
Support NPI launches by coordinating equipment purchases, line setups, and manufacturability reviews.
Work closely with design engineers and vendors to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical field.
At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, or equivalent education and experience including co-op and internships.
Must have experience in troubleshooting high-volume manufacturing equipment.
Project management skills with analytical and problem-solving proficiencies.
Solid computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products with the ability to grasp new systems quickly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with fabrication and injection machines, robotics, and PLC controls.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and Six Sigma methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of preventive maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Certification in Six Sigma and/or project management is a plus.
