At GE Appliances, we’re seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to lead the way in optimizing our production processes. As a Process Improvement Engineer, you’ll oversee equipment and process effectiveness in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Your role will include troubleshooting, guiding technical support teams, and implementing solutions that drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Equipment Management:

  • Own and maintain production equipment and tooling post-engineering sign-off.

  • Serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.

  • Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) metrics.

  • Oversee equipment calibration and manage preventive maintenance plans.

Safety Leadership:

  • Collaborate with operations leaders to identify and resolve safety issues.

  • Lead safety action plans and ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Process Control:

  • Develop and enforce process-level standards and manufacturing control plans.

  • Act as a cross-functional leader to resolve production line challenges.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead problem-solving initiatives, root cause analysis, and implement best practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.

New Product Introductions (NPI):

  • Support NPI launches by coordinating equipment purchases, line setups, and manufacturability reviews.

  • Work closely with design engineers and vendors to ensure seamless integration of new processes.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, or equivalent education and experience including co-op and internships.

  • Must have experience in troubleshooting high-volume manufacturing equipment.

  • Project management skills with analytical and problem-solving proficiencies.

  • Solid computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products with the ability to grasp new systems quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with fabrication and injection machines, robotics, and PLC controls.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Advanced knowledge of preventive maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

  • Certification in Six Sigma and/or project management is a plus.
