Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Lewiston, ID is seeking hands-on technical staff to support manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures.
• Manage procurementof assembly process tools.
• Train operators and support staff as needed.
• Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Two‑year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment relevant to the role.
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows‑based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL).
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test result(s).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems.
• Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments.
• Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Experience preparing materials cross‑sections for microscopic analysis.
• Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and maneuver 40 pounds.
• Pull weight from high/low shelves.
• Reach, bend, grip, twist, sit and/or stand at least 8 hours.
• Fine finger dexterity.

Pay Range: $32.88 - $48.60 per hour
