Job summary

Dura-Line in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to support extrusion lines, troubleshoot processes, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training, 8 years of technician experience in engineering/quality/manufacturing, 2–3 years in plastic extrusion, and strong English proficiency. Leadership ability and lean experience are valued as part of a safety- and quality-focused team.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience as a technician in engineering, quality or manufacturing.
• Two to three years of plastic extrusion experience.
• English language proficiency.
• Experience with Lean/continuous improvement and Microsoft Office.
• Experience leading teams and projects.
• Willingness to meet physical requirements (standing, PPE, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Disposition non-conforming materials from the manufacturing line.
• Provide day-to-day production line process coverage and rapid response to out-of-control processes.
• Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve Cpk and yield.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Maintain and develop manufacturing instructions.
• Support Lean Kaizen and 5S activities.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing on maintenance instructions and schedules.
• Summarize and analyze yield and process data.
• Manage small multi-department and contractor projects.
• Be fully competent in extrusion production lines and processes and serve as a subject matter expert for employees.
• Train new employees, operators, and leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma, technical school, or one year of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• English language proficiency.
• Eight years of experience in a technician role in engineering, quality, or manufacturing, preferably in a production environment.
• Two to three years of plastic extrusion experience.
• Lean/continuous improvement, Microsoft Office, and engineering tools experience desired.
• Experience leading teams and projects, with the ability to influence others.
• Physical requirements include navigating obstacles, wearing PPE, standing/walking for 8‑12 hours, working near hot machinery, climbing, reaching, squatting, and bending.

The compensation for this position is typically start at $30.77/Hour.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long‑term incentive compensation.
