Job summary

Burnham is seeking a current second to fourth-year undergraduate, or graduate student to join our Summer 2027 as a Process Engineering Intern based in Raleigh, NC. This is an 8-week, paid, in-person internship with up to 40 hours/week and travel up to 30% (2 weeks at a time).

You will lead research studies, support engineering projects, develop tools for project origination and process optimization, and collaborate with facility operations teams to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy

• Interest in renewable energy or environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead research studies for new processes and/or equipment, with reports and presentations.
• Support engineering projects with regular status reports and action tracking.
• Develop tools to support project origination, technology selection, and process improvement.
• Coordinate with facility operations teams on compliance, documentation, procurement, and lab activities.
• Contribute to risk analysis and performance assessment activities.
