Job summary

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking a Process Engineer for a wood-processing facility in Ashland, ME. The role focuses on improving production processes, boosting efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting plant leadership, maintenance, and operations in implementing new ideas.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving and data analysis skills, and familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methods to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Experience in wood products manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process-improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and equipment performance.
• Develop and update work procedures and operating standards.
• Lead projects focused on improving efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Use Lean, Six Sigma, and other improvement methods to reduce waste and improve processes.
• Review production data to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Support workplace organization, safety, and continuous improvement programs.
• Coordinate equipment upgrades and other improvement projects.
• Plan projects, track costs, and review results.
• Train and coach employees on improvement methods and best practices.
• Communicate changes and encourage employee participation in improvements.
