Job summary

Shawmut Corporation, Clinton, Tennessee, seeks an engineer to control material processes and develop manufacturing methods for existing and new products. The role focuses on safety, machine efficiency, quality, and cost savings, with responsibilities spanning process optimization, capability studies, and ECO/ECR-driven improvements.

You will collaborate with Launch, Quality, and Operations to resolve material issues, update work instructions, and sustain continuous productivity gains.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Textile, or other related field) is required.
• 0-4 years experience; manufacturing field a plus.
• Good communicator and able to work independently or in groups.
• Knowledge of statistics and Statistical Process Control; experience with Minitab/JMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use Key Metrics to outline and drive down key scrap sources.
• Review results of laminated production products; maintain and optimize process setups.
• Generate capability studies and evaluate data-driven VA/VE activities.
• Lead VA/VE activities through ECR/ECO processes.
• Collaborate with Launch to review products held on Gateway before release and address process quality issues.
