Job summary

Arkema Inc. seeks a driven Chemical Engineer to provide technical assistance for the Clear Lake Plant and Bayport 2EHA Unit. You will optimize plant systems to boost safety, efficiency, and product yields while leading improvement projects.

You will train operations staff, pursue Green Belt certification, and contribute to environmental compliance, incident investigations, and process hazard analyses. This role involves minimal travel and direct reporting to the Clear Lake Technical Manager.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Arkema Developing Engineer program, or 2–3 years of equivalent industrial experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for Clear Lake Plant and Bayport 2EHA Unit operations.
• Optimize site systems (reaction, distillation, incineration, flares, utilities, tank farms, cooling towers) to improve health, safety and environmental compliance, reduce costs, improve quality and maximize yields.
• Lead high-priority cost and asset utilization improvement projects across the site.
• Train Operations personnel and other staff in technical issues and new projects; attain Greenbelt Project Leader certification.
• Support plant turnarounds, emergency operations, and other times when technical assistance is required.
