Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Process Engineer in Salisbury, NC to lead process engineering initiatives across extrusion and injection-molding operations. The role emphasizes safety, productivity and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

You will interface with production, quality, capital engineering and product development to drive efficiency and new product introductions while maintaining strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on process engineering in polymer injection molding and extrusion.
  • Data-driven problem solving, leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe, professional operations and uphold accountability.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to commercialize new products.
  • Assist in capital equipment budgeting and process development.
  • Interface with customers to plan and develop new products.
  • Analyze data with statistical software and present clear results.
  • Develop and test new material compounds to meet productivity goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of extrusion processes with trials.
  • Maintain records of formulations and material properties.
  • Engage suppliers to stay updated on new machinery/materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
