Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Process Engineer to lead process engineering at our Salisbury, NC composite siding and trim facility. The role focuses on identifying and spearheading manufacturing initiatives to maximize safety, productivity and efficiency.

You will partner with R&D and Manufacturing, manage capital equipment budgeting, and develop new materials and production methods. A hands-on, data-driven problem solver with collaboration skills is essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Hands-on process engineering experience in polymers preferred.
• Experience with extrusion and injection molding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities are conducted safely and professionally and hold others accountable.
• Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to bring new products to market using gated processes.
• Assist in capital equipment budgeting and specification to improve production methods.
• Interface with customers and stakeholders to plan and develop new products and solve production issues.
• Analyze data using statistical methods and present results clearly.
• Develop and implement new material compounds to meet productivity goals.
• Continuous improvement of production processes to improve rates and reduce scrap.
• Maintain records of formulations and properties.
