Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure processes are performed in compliance with methods, materials and equipment specifications.
  • Drive standardized process management using the scientific method and six sigma tools.
  • Author and approve new and revised Activity Instructions and Product Criteria/Work Instructions.
  • Determine root cause of deviations and develop timely reaction plans with escalation.
  • Monitor yields, labor and materials data to develop process improvements.
  • Provide manufacturing support with training, work instructions and interpretation.
  • Ensure and monitor equipment performance and PM completion; understand equipment interaction.
  • Write capital requests, manage costs and control budgets for department needs.
  • Act as liaison between manufacturing, engineering and facilities for rapid tech testing/implementation.
  • Participate in Production and NPI meetings; develop certain process parameters.
  • Assist investigations of external customer escapes and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

This position will be located in our Plant 5, Ti-Cast Operation, and will support manufacturing through process control and improvement initiatives, assume responsibility for integrity for assigned product, establish and maintain external and internal customer contacts, document and prepare part specific work instruction, maintain knowledge of job cost, and develop/implement appropriate plans to improve profitability.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure processes are performed in compliance with methods, materials and equipment specifications as detailed in Corporate Manuals, MSATs, and customer specifications.
  • Drive standardized process management using the scientific method and six sigma tools.
  • Author and approve new and revised Activity Instructions and Product Criteria/Work Instructions for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for determination of root cause of any deviation from critical process specification. Responsible for developing a timely and formal reaction plan which will include an escalating help chain system.
  • Process Development and Improvement - Monitors/analyzes yield, labor, and materials data to develop process improvement ideas for new and established processes.
  • Manufacturing Support - Monitors manufacturing output to ensure process control.Responds to manufacturing needs: training, work instructions and interpretation.
  • Equipment Reliability – Ensures and monitors equipment for performance and PM completion.Understanding of equipment function and how it interacts with the process.Familiar with equipment, but ability to operate is not required.Minimal equipment diagnostics performed.
  • Writing capital requests, managing costs, and controlling budgets for specific department needs.
  • Acting as a conduit between manufacturing, engineering, and facilities to ensure that technology needs are communicated, and new technology is rapidly tested/implemented.
  • Active member of Production and NPI part meetings with primary responsibility for developing certain process parameters.
  • External customer escapes – Assists in investigations, root cause analysis, and implements correction action plans.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Verification of employment will be required at the time of hire.Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution in the following disciplines:Materials or Metallurgical Engineering
  • 1year of work experience in an Engineering role (Co-Op or internship experience will be considered as work experience)
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Excel, excellent written and oral communication skills, able to work in a self-directed or team environment, and have good organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ABS
  • 1-3 years' experience using AS9100 or AS13100 Quality Management Systems
  • Strong analytical abilities
