Job summary

ConMet in Monroe, NC is seeking an engineering professional to maintain and improve current manufacturing processes on mass production lines. You will lead programing and fixture design for new parts, set up and validate processes, and optimize machine utilization with a focus on cost reduction and safety.

The role requires hands-on experience with AutoCAD/Creo, SPC and GD&T, lean manufacturing, and data analytics.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering or 10 years of industrial assembly experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years with industrial assembly experience.
• Proficient in draw process layouts using 2- and 3-dimensional design software such Auto Cad and Creo.
• Good understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
• Good Understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensional and Tolerancing).
• Tier1 automotive assembly experience is preferred.
• Hands on lean manufacturing and data analytics experience.
• Hands on Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities on mass production assembly lines, including robotic, conveyorized and bench assembling method.
• Improve quality, reduce change over time and complexity, and production efficiency by working with cross functional team using problem solving tools such as lean A3.5-Why, lean six sigma.
• Drive systematic continuous improvement by using lean and automation manufacturing technologies such as robotics (Fanuc) & Vision, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), electronic process recipe management.
• Manage and implement new process changes driven from product changes and new product launches.
• Other duties as assigned.
