Job summary

Lithium Americas is seeking a Process Engineer Intern to join the Reno, NV team. You will support process development and optimization, help run pilot plant operations for lithium extraction, and assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting under the Technical Director.

The role targets students in chemical engineering, with hands-on lab experience, strong communication, and a passion for innovation in clean energy. Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in chemical engineering or a related discipline at the collegiate level.
• Demonstrates results-oriented mindset, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrates competencies in communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, planning, collaboration, and creative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Process Engineering Team in design and development of experiments and projects.
• Participate in running and troubleshooting pilot plant unit operations for lithium extraction and processing.
• Be a critical team member within the Technical Center Team.
• Take experimental samples and prepare for handoff to the analytical laboratory.
• Learn basic lab and piloting methods for conducting experiments.
• Record data, write reports, and contribute to R&D initiatives.
