Job summary

Lithium Americas Corp. is seeking a Process Engineer Intern in Winnemucca, NV. You will support process engineering, plant operations, commissioning and safety, with hands-on experience in industrial settings.

The position reports to the Site Engineering Manager and may involve travel to other offices or sites. A bachelor’s degree track in relevant engineering and coursework by start date are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mining Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework by start date.
• Basic understanding of chemical process principles (material/energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Assist process engineers with monitoring and analyzing plant performance data (mass balances, energy usage, yields, and efficiencies).
• Assist with data collection, documentation, and technical reporting.
• Support development and review of PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and operating manuals.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, EHS, and quality.
