Job summary

Mativ is seeking chemical engineering interns for a 10+ week internship program at our Minneapolis Plant beginning May 2026. Interns will work on extrusion line operations, processing resin-based materials, and gain exposure to real-time production, quality issues, and project work with deliverables.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated with curiosity to learn, able to analyze information for opportunities, and communicate effectively in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Chemistry or Engineering degree with at least 1 year completed
• GPA 3.0+ preferred
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out controlled experiments on extrusion lines to evaluate process variables
• Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to identify potential process improvements
• Collaborate with Process Technicians and Engineers to document findings and recommend changes to operating conditions
• Present results and recommendations to the department at the conclusion of the internship
