Mativ is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for our Minneapolis Plant starting May 2026. This 10+ week program offers exposure to operations, including real-time production, process experiences, and project deliverables with leadership exposure.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a chemistry or engineering degree, with 1–2 years of coursework and a 3.0+ GPA, strong Excel skills, and a collaborative, proactive mindset. Pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree with a concentration in Chemistry or Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 full year of coursework completed; 2 years preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in your field of study.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• High initiative and drive with a curiosity to learn and improve the business.
• Ability to analyze information, synthesize and communicate findings, and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out controlled experiments on extrusion lines to evaluate process variables.
• Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to identify potential process improvements.
• Collaborate with Process Technicians and Engineers to document findings and recommend changes to operating conditions.
• Present results and recommendations to the department at internship conclusion.

Process Engineer Intern

We are actively pursuing interns with Chemical Engineering background to complete a 10 plus week internship program at our Minneapolis Plant starting in May 2026. The internship will provide exposure to many aspects of operations including a multi-functional team setting, real time production, process experience and project work with specific deliverables and exposure to the plant leadership team. Interns will participate in plant and production line operations to learn technical properties and quality issues of extrusion lines with resin based materials. Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business. Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively communicate, and work collaboratively in a team setting. Rate of pay ranges from $20/hour to $25/hour depending upon experience.

• Student will need to have completed a minimum of 1-full year of course work with preference for individuals who have completed 2-full years.
• Preference is a minimum 3.0 GPA in your academic field of study.
• Must have solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
• Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business.
