Position: Process Engineer III

Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week. Expected to work outside of normal hours at times to support 24 hr/day plant operation and for occasional offsite assignments, including 30% travel with concentrated periods of higher travel.

The Process Engineer III provides process engineering technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and various Corporate departments. Responsibilities include identifying and initiating plant improvement projects, supporting plant capital projects, providing technical support to production teams, resolving all technical regulatory issues, and developing/presenting technical training.

This role involves performing complex assignments that may require developing new or improved products, processes, or techniques. It includes assessing the feasibility of engineering tests, coordinating planning and implementation of projects, and managing multiple assignments while working closely with staff, production, and maintenance teams.

The position may also involve a transition towards managerial responsibilities, with or without ongoing people management duties. It requires broad interpretation of engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily production activities
  • Guide Operations on process conditions, campaign start-ups, transitions, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain and update production process instructions
  • Be a part of the Manufacturing/CCC management team, exhibiting teamwork to ensure efficient plant operation
  • Support cross-functional activities and cover for absent staff
  • Engage in site safety programs and ensure environmental compliance
  • Develop expertise in activated carbon manufacturing and stay current with chemical engineering skills
  • Prepare process and regulatory reports, manufacturing instructions
  • Support raw material and product specifications, conduct plant trials, and provide technical training
  • Identify process improvements and lead cost reduction projects
  • Assist in designing, installing, and starting up new projects
  • Provide process engineering support for corporate projects and other sites
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university
  • 5-7 years of experience in a plant environment
  • 5+ years of manufacturing development/optimization experience preferred
