Job summary

Central Garden & Pet is seeking a Process Engineer 1 (ChemE) in Dallas, TX to bridge Operations and Technology Development. You will design, plan, and analyze experiments to improve manufacturing processes, focusing on solids/liquids blending, extrusion, and injection molding, while complying with GMP, GLP, and ISO 9001:2018 standards.

The role emphasizes technology transfer, process optimization, data analysis, and SOP development, with opportunities to scale from bench to full-scale production

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years in Process Engineering with emphasis on formulation development, process scale-up, chemical synthesis and process evaluation.
• Demonstrated proficiency in creation and analysis of Industrial Design of Experiments and/or Mixture Designs.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing principles preferred.
• Experience in synthesis and processing of chemicals and materials preferred.
• Project Management skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Technology Transfer: act as liaison between Operations and R&D during product development and commercialization; design, perform, and analyze experiments using QbD, DOE, and mixture design; assist in scaling bench experiments to pilot and full-scale production; document and validate process parameters; evaluate new materials and equipment needs; support scale-up trials and product evaluations; assist Operations with product launches; evaluate equipment and process capabilities; support disposition of product inconsistencies.
