Job summary

Campbell’s is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the plant's technology strategy, managing engineering personnel and capital resources to meet objectives and safety standards. You will collaborate across departments to optimize environmental permitting, reporting, and capital expenditures.

You will drive capital projects, ensure reliable infrastructure, and oversee a staff of engineers, promoting professional development and maintaining strong manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in engineering/maintenance.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plan for manufacturing and capital investment.
• Administer annual capital budget in excess of $30 million.

How You Will Make History Here

The Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining the Plant’s competitive advantage through the use of technology. He/she interacts with other departments, divisions, and organizations to provide the optimal use of technology to meet business objectives, savings opportunities and operating requirements. He/she manages engineering personnel and capital resources within the plant to achieve technical objectives. In addition, he/she is responsible for facility-wide environmental permitting/reporting, emergency and crisis planning, and safety and OHSA requirements as they relate to capital expenditures and engineering specifications.

What You Will Do

• 20% - Develop and implement strategic plan for manufacturing and capital investment to maintain the facility's position as a world-class food manufacturer.
• 10% - Responsible for the preparation and administration of annual capital budget in excess of $30 million.
• 20% - Provide technical and project management expertise to ensure successful completion of all capital initiatives.
• 10% - Initiate captial projects leveraging technology to produce creative and breakthrough solutions to current manufacturing restrictions and to provide next generation manufacturing systems.
• 10% - Administer the plant's environmental programs including permitting and reporting. Plant representative for Federal and State environmental officials.
• 10% - Direct management of available and fixed assets in excess of $85 million.
• 10% - Maintain qualified engineering staff to support manufacturing and capital initiatives. Promote personal and professional development.
• 10% - Prepare and manage annual department expense budget.
• A new product line will be added to the plant. Determine methods for integration of new manufacturing systems into current plant infrastructure to minimize capital investment and time to market. Lead multi-functional team to ascertain new manufacturing requirements for infrastructure, process equipment, utilities, ingredients, and process controls. Coordinate efforts of plant, corporate, vendor, and consultant resources in developing cost effective approach while insuring productivity and reliability. Provide final technical approval and recommendation.
• Initiate efforts to reduce environmental limits on plant steam generation to increase plant infrastructure capacities. Develop strategies with Corporate Engineering and Legal representatives and environmental consultant to amend current permitting of boiler facilities allowing restrictions on steam generation to be removed. Present to and negotiate with Federal and State environmental officials.
• Increased productivity is required to meet plant manufacturing objectives. Work with interdepartmental team to identify opportunities and often create technical teams to provide technology based solutions. Resulting capital projects are integrated into the capital plan and technical resources are allocated. Provide technical leadership and continuity to the manufacturing strategy.

Compensation And Benefits

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $153,700-$211,300

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
