This role focuses on RF microelectronic packaging and surface mount technology within an ISO Class 8 cleanroom. Responsibilities include hands‑on problem‑solving, developing and implementing materials and processes, providing production support using analytical techniques like SPC and experimental designs, and evaluating materials and equipment. The position requires on‑site responsiveness to factory issues and cross‑functional collaboration. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field is required, along with the ability to work in a cleanroom environment and experience with defense manufacturing processes.

What You Will Do
  • Support the Microwave Automated Factory (an ISO Class 8 clean room environment) in high‑volume, high‑mix production with on‑site responsiveness to equipment, process, material, and product problems.
  • Support manual and automated assembly processes involving epoxy and solder materials with microelectronic die and surface mount components.
  • Work hand‑in‑hand with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, and manufacturing engineers on product manufacturing.
  • Support the development and implementation of materials, processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Evaluate materials, equipment and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) and interface with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date
  • Ability to spend 8+ hours per day in a clean room environment, following clean room and electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.
  • Education/Experience with Defense Manufacturing processes and tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Prior RTX internship, co‑op, or work experience
  • Experience with Process Engineering within a Defense Manufacturing Environment

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
