Job summary

RTX is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to develop data packages, support shop floor processes, and drive continuous improvement across assembly operations. You will create instructions, routing, and tool designs while applying Six Sigma principles to boost efficiency.

Qualified candidates hold a STEM degree with CAD experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. This is an onsite role with opportunities for growth and relocation support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or STEM field by start date.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Project, or Word).
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages with assembly instructions, workflow, and tool design.
  • Support daily manufacturing with process troubleshooting and engineering changes.
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root-cca analysis as required.
  • Lead continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and costs via Six Sigma and data-driven decisions.
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Develop tools/fixtures to improve ergonomics and process efficiency.

Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. Raytheon Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. You would apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams.

What You Will Do
  • Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
  • Supporting daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  • Dispositioning non‑conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  • Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  • Providing real‑time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in‑house as well as the supply base.
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
  • Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, or Word)
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling tools
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail
  • Knowledge and ability to apply lean manufacturing principles and techniques
  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Current DoD security clearance (secret)
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
  • Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Clearance Information: This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
