Job summary

RTX is seeking an on-site Manufacturing Data Packages engineer in El Segundo, CA, to develop MDPs with assembly instructions, workflows, labor standards, and tool designs. The role supports daily manufacturing, implements engineering changes, and analyzes non-conforming material to drive corrective actions.

Candidates should have a STEM degree or 2+ years of related experience and the ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or 2+ years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool/fixture designs
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and engineering change incorporation into MDPs
  • Disposal of non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and costs using CORE principles
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators both in-house and with suppliers
  • Develop tools/fixtures to improve ergonomics in processes
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence

What You Will Do
  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs.
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP.
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles and data driven decision making.
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes.
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 2 years' prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
